Holly came home for lunch today and is watching the DVR of The View and they had this really funny black commedian on, Cheryl Underwood, who just said something like, "I love George Bush... you know why? Because everybody's afraid of us 'cause they know a crazy-ass hillbilly is in the White House!" You got that right!

Ugh. It's so annoying when people erase their comments! However, the blank space is sometimes much more intriguing than the actual post itself. :)
Suffice to say the gentleman removed his post since he wishes to not be misunderstood as being too mean or rude or whatever, and also because he wishes, quite wisely, to keep his online identity as clean as possible for professional reasons. I joked in an email to him that likely the posting had already been cached by Google; however, sadly, a quick Google search revealed that claim to be false. The upshot of his posting was that Ms. Underwood is actually a batshit crazy right wing conservative Republican (as the poster himself turned out to be, and I mean that in the nicest possible way). So... when she says She "loves" Bush II, she means she really loves the man. Go figure. And I guess her way of showing this is by going on national television and "joking" that he is a "crazy-ass hillbilly." Sure, I get it. I'm sure that the millions of TV viewers that saw that were able to sort out the multiple layers of irony there too. I guess, the real deal is, she means it. The idea is that he's a good president because he makes other countries afraid of him, and because he's a regular guy, you know the type of guy you'd like to do a line of coke-, I mean, have a beer with... Well, he supposedly doesn't drink either. Although, with his goofy soft shoe routine and more obvious apathy and cluelessness than ever displayed to us via the press, one has to wonder...
ANYWAY... this whole Cheryl Underwood thing, the comment, it's removal, the private email exchange between myself and the now forever anonymous poster-cum-remover have all certainly been food for thought. A veritable buffet of that shit. I'm full. Perhaps later on I'll be able to crap out something worthy of public consideration on these topics. Perhaps not. I do have a full time and a part time job you know. And a whole 'nother "professional" blog I've started, under my "real" identity, which I've been neglecting...
