speaking of photos

I am very disturbed by the fact that apparently I don't know where are the slides I took in México ten years ago. I thought they were in this cigar box of slides that's full of slides my dad shot but they are not there. Luckily most of the photos I took on that trip were prints but I did have two or three rolls of slides and as I recall they turned out pretty damn good. Fuck. Maybe I'll find them tonight if I take the time to really search.

I found a slide laying on the floor in the office. I'm not sure if it was yours or mine... It was really old with no frame. I don't remember what I did with it, either. So really, there is no point in me posting this.

As I recall, you also brought back some audio recordings. I remember wonderful street vignettes, as well as some domestic life documentation--something like you singing Nirvana to your host family's children, w/ the Mother's refrain, "basta, basta."

Also, I still have your postcards... somewhere.

oh my god

Steve--

Yeah...
I should still have those tapes. Somewhere. I need to transfer them to harddrive/CD....

BUT you are confusing something crucial here. I was looking for a specific part of the tape when I was playing it for you and during this time, Todd Hanson happened to be there too. I was playing the tape misidentifying something that really happened to have the first song on Primus's album The Seas of Cheese playing in the background. (My host family had a small boom box and they let me play tapes on it sometimes. I had a small set of tapes with me to listen to on walkman.) Todd started joking, seriously cracking himself up, suggesting that the host mother was saying to me "Bastante Primus, Bastante Primus..."

Also-- I'm glad you have the postcards!

I doubt the slide on the floor was mine. The slides I'm missing were pretty well framed as I recall.
