Another prophet of disaster who says the ship is lost

Finals are over! some of them actually went ok, for once. I'm at work for a coupla hours, but there's really not much going on...most of the students have already left for Thxgiving break.

if you think that's funny, check this out: Angry Alien...30 second re-enactments of classic films performed by bunnies. I dig the "Pulp Fiction" one, especially.

TMWCB Metal update:

Sunn 0))) is really, really good! I just bought Black One.

Pelican I'm still on the fance about.

There's a new Earth record!

Sunn 0))) says they are an Earth cover band!

Animal Collective are in no way metal, but they are good anyway!

Thanks, TMWCB--
i really gotta get with the program...i rarely listen to whats current in the metal scene...i still get my hands on stuff, but i think its all from prior to 1997. gotta investigate some new metal. as opposed to "nu metal" which i feel justified in not bothering with.

anyway, i will look into this "Sunn O)))". how do you pronounce that? an Earth cover band? too cool!

I am very pleased that Earth are still doing their thing. "Earth 2" is one of the best CDs i bought last year.

we are big Animal Collective fans here at Team Schierl Headquarters. Bill Knot Eye had given me a copy of "Sung Tongs", and given Bill's usual musical tastes I just assumed they were some obscure 70's outfit. imagine my surprise when i discovered they were current. I've also been enjoying this Ariel Pink character, who apparently has some sort of link (label, i guess) to Animal Collective.

I also just picked up Seadrum/House of Sun by Boredoms. Haven't purchased one of their releases in forever. Lordy. They've, uh, changed a little.

A friend of mine says she went to see Sunn 0))) with Earth a little while back. She shoved earplugs in her ears, but her face shook the entire time.
